In addition to working on the screenplay, I organized a team that would assist me on set and allow me greater flexibility with my schedule. I sent out a poll -
I noticed my friend, Kimathi, selected yes. I asked him; he agreed, and I added him to the group.
I then sent a notice to everyone in the group, more detailed, as this time I was more confident in what I was doing.
I sent a detailed announcement regarding the location and shooting schedule. On the day of, I would notify them of what we would be shooting, which is honestly my fault, as if I had notified them earlier, we all could've prepared in time.
There was a lot of wasted time on Friday and Saturday, as a lot of people, including myself, had places to be, and two vital people couldn't make it on Saturday.
On Sunday, we managed to film 40%, but this meant filming was split into the week: Tuesday, when we got 98% done, and Wednesday, when only 2 shots were left.
Which, in my opinion, is amazing considering the tight time gap I had between filming and my deadline, yet the content itself suffered, as you can feel that it was rushed.
